Picnic In The Park

Picnic season has arrived! The summer weather is here and a nice way to spend the afternoon is at the park, eating and relaxing. There are many places to go to for space and nature around Hong Kong so we have rounded up our top 5!

Victoria Peak Garden

If you want a quick getaway from the city and a view, check out Victoria Peak Garden! Only a 13-20 walk or 5 minute drive from Peak Galleria! On Mount Austin Road, you can view the entire city with green lawns with pagodas, park benches and Victorian fittings. There is a light refreshment kiosk if you don’t bring your own snacks.

Tamar Park

The easily accessible Tamar Park is a harbour-front park hot spot for picnics and friends to gather outside. The large space has a huge grass area and located near the waterfront. There are different exhibitions and events that happen throughout the near like the AIA Carnival and Botero’s statues currently situated there. Make sure to bring drinks and snacks! The closest mall would be IFC.

Inspiration Lake

The spacious area in Lantau is a dream for us Hong Kongers. Inspiration Lake is the largest artificial lake in Hong Kong! Perfect for a family day out, there’s something for everyone with paddle boats, carts and different areas of the park to cycle around. There’s a 711 near the entrance that has food, drinks and ice cream for the hot summer days!

Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park

Catch the sea breeze at Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park. The grassy area has a backdrop of the harbor and is near basketball courts and playgrounds. This is a great spot for families to spend the day in the sun. Conveniently located in Sheung Wan, there are other activities to do nearby!

Nursery Park

The open space in the West Kowloon Cultural District will be home to a new waterfront park! Till then we can enjoy Nursery Park which is being the place to be due to Free Space Happening events, every 2nd Sunday of each month! From stalls to street performers, a great afternoon can be spent there. Other than that, you can plant trees and plants at the Nursery Park workshop.
